Little cheese baskets that taste as good as they look.
Ingredients:
1 3/4 cup wisantigo parmesan cheese or similar, freshly grated
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 350ºF.
Line a baking sheet with parchment or waxed paper. For each basket, spread 3 tablespoons of the grated cheese on the paper to form a 3-inch round. Bake until golden brown, about 12 minutes.
Cool for 1 minute. Using a metal spatula. Transfer the baskets to an inverted cup or a paper egg holder (the plastic one may melt) to form a small "basket". or transfer to another piece of parchment or waxed paper and cool completely. Use immediately or store in an airtight container for up to 24 hours.
Notes:
It has been my experience that manafactuers that grind cheese tend to add an agent to prevent the grated cheese from sticking after packaging. For the best results grate the cheese yourself or make sure that the grated cheese is pure.
