Roasted Chestnuts (Show #215)

Not quite over an open fire…but still great…

Ingredients:

Whole Michigan chestnuts

Note:

Roasting is best when the chestnut is to be eaten by itself

Method:

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees

Use a sharp knife to make an “X” fashioned slash (½ to 1 inch) on the flat side of each chestnut

Arrange slashed nuts in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes at 400 degrees

Peel with the help of a small sharp knife and eat
